Know Everything About Scabies Infection

About:

Scabies is an intensely itchy dermatosis.

Anyone can get scabies. It strikes people of all ages, races, and income levels. [1]

- Can happen to both men and women
- Infestation occurs at all ages, but particularly in children
- If left untreated can continue for many months

Scabies is a common public health problem and is widespread in many underdeveloped countries. People get scabies when the mite burrows into the top layer of their skin to live and feed. It’s highly contagious, and it spreads person to person, via direct contact with the skin.

Symptoms:

Self-diagnosable

Physical examination of the hands, arms, and skin covered by clothing or jewelry can diagnose scabies.

People may experience
- Intense itching day and night
- Rashes cause little bumps often in a line
- Scratching causes sores
- Thick crusts on the skin in severe scabies
