Seborrheic dermatitis capitis is a very common skin condition that causes scaly patches, red skin, and stubborn dandruff.

Other than this, applying mineral oil or olive for an hour and then combing and washing it off, and avoiding styling of hair and products that contain alcohol can also prove to be effective methods to cure seborrheic dermatitis.

Medication: Depending upon the intensity of seborrheic dermatitis, the doctor may prescribe creams and lotions containing calcineurin inhibitors tacrolimus and pimecrolimus, antifungal gels, creams, or shampoos.
