Cholelithiasis is a condition in which there is a formation of Gallstones in the gallbladder. There could be a single or multiple stone formation in the gallbladder.
If there is a formation of calculus in bile duct it is called as choledocholithiasis.
About 12% of the population has gallstone buy only a minority of them cause problem and about 80% of them doesn't show any symptoms and needs nothing to be done. (1)

Lab tests or imaging often required like X-Ray, Ultrasound of abdomen, CT scan, MRCP, ERCP etc.
Can happen to both men and women
Usually chronic in nature.
Cholelithiasis is a common condition seen which is usually asymptomatic in major people, but if it causes pain, nausea and vomiting, may require surgical intervention. Gallstones which are asymptomatic are called as 'silent stones’ and may not show any symptoms.

Surgical procedures like cholecystectomy are required or choletripsy.
