USG 3D Pelvis uses sound waves to produce 3D images of the lower abdomen and pelvis. There are three types of pelvic ultrasound: abdominal for both sexes, vaginal for women, and rectal for men.

How is USG 3D Pelvis performed?

USG 3D Pelvis is performed in the following steps:

  • The patient is asked to lie down on the examination table and a lubricating gel is applied to the pelvic area.
  • An ultrasound instrument, known as a transducer, is placed against the skin of the patient and used to transmit high-frequency ultrasound waves into the body.
  • The transducer has both 2D and 3D capabilities.
  • The 3D pictures that appear on the monitor are captured by the lab technician.
