Color Doppler – Head

Overview Brief

The Color Doppler- Head test is done to check the blood flow in one’s brain and how the vessels in it are affected. Any narrowing or blockages can increase the risk of stroke in adults.

What is Color Doppler- Head?

The Color Doppler- Head test, also known as Transcranial Doppler test is an ultrasound procedure that is done to check the blood flow in your brain.

The Color Doppler- Head makes use of sound waves to determine any blockages or narrowing in the blood vessels of the brain. The diagnosis can reveal the potential risk of stroke in adults and sickle cell disease in children.

A radiologist may recommend Color Doppler- Head test if the blood flow in the brain is affected by conditions like stenosis and vasospasm. [1]
