Color Doppler of Scrotum (Testis) uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the testicles and the tissue around them. In this process, clear pictures of the scrotum, testicles, and their blood vessels are visible. Color Doppler of Scrotum is known to be useful in the diagnosis of the scrotal lesions and can be helpful in acute pain conditions or swelling near the scrotum.
How is Color Doppler of Scrotum performed?
The patient will be asked to lie on the examination table and the procedure will begin.
- The radiologist will apply a water-based gel to the area to be tested.
- A transducer is used to send and receive sound waves from/to the body.
- The gel will help the transducer make secure contact with the body.
- The transducer is pressed against the skin, and it directs pulses of inaudible, high-frequency sound waves into the body.
- As the sound waves bounce into the internal organs, the receiver in the transducer records changes in the pitch and direction of the sound.
- These waves are measured, displayed by a computer, and images are captured.
This test may take around 20-30 minutes.
