What is CK5/6 Test?
Cytokeratin 5-6 is an antibody examined in laboratory for the recognition of cytokeratin 5 and 6 proteins in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues by means of immunohistochemistry (IHC). 
Why is CK5/6 Test suggested?
In the CK5/6 Test the Cytokeratin 5-6 antibody labels mesothelioma, along with epithelial basal cells in prostate and tonsil, and differentiate the malignant mesothelioma from pulmonary adenocarcinoma. It does not act in response with other mesodermally derived tissues, like muscle and connective tissues. Furthermore, Anti-CK 5-6 has been found valuable in the differential diagnosis of uncommon proliferations of the breast. 
How is CK5/6 Test performed?
Typically, a blood sample is drawn from a vein in the arm in the CK5/6 Test.

The normal value in CK5/6 Test for all ages and genders is >100kU/l. 
Preparation before performing CK5/6 Test
